Rust on the teeth of spline hub
- Contact mark on the teeth of spline and the end of hub
- Burrs at the end of hub due to uneven wear on the spline teeth
- Damaged torsion springs
- Damaged facing material
- Oily facings
- Broken facings
- Wear out on teeth of spline / Cushion spring steel segments separated from hub area
- Rust on the teeth of spline hub
- Unable to install the clutch disc to the main drive shaft
- Dropout of torsion spring/wear out of stop pin
- Hit mark to spline teeth and end surface. Crack to clutch plate.
Cause
No or insufficient grease on the teeth of spline hub or grease is vanished under elevated temperature due to the use of low heat-resistance grease.
Because of the rust, the disc does not move on the main drive shaft smoothly.
Then the clutch disc is not disengaged fully from the friction surface.
Solution
Apply grease with high heat-resistance to the spline of both main drive shaft and clutch disc assy.
Insert the disc to the shaft temporarily, and wipe out the excess grease.
