Clutch diaphragm fingers or levers are uneven
- Clutch diaphragm fingers or levers are uneven
- Diaphragm fouled on clutch disc
- Excessive wear on diaphragm tips
- Hold down bolts still in cover assembly
- Burst pressure plate casting
- Interference with the other part
- Abnormal sound with foot off clutch pedal (metal squeaking sound). Sound disappears with light pressure or full depression of the clutch pedal is applied.
Cause
The pressure plate cover assembly was torqued down incorrectly i.e. not diagonally.
Solution
Tighten bolts temporary by hand, then torque down in correct diagonal sequence one by one.
