Clutch Disc Judder
1. Vehicle vibrates/shakes when clutch is being released, at take off. 2. Dished and warped flywheel.
CAUSE
Flywheel not even.
Deep scoring indentations from previous worn clutch.
SOLUTION
Always resurface flywheel before installing new clutch. Refer Figure below.
Oily facings.
CAUSE
Faulty main drive oil seal.
Faulty rear main bearing oil seal.
SOLUTION
Replace clutch disc.
Replace faulty oil seals.
Melted grease on clutch disc side plate.
CAUSE
Installation error/misalignment (refer misalignment tips).
Inferior clutch facings.
Diaphragm spring load not to specification.
SOLUTION
Replace complete clutch and pilot (spigot) bearing.
Avoid misalignment on installation.
